Wildflowers of Kaas
Kaas Plateau - Wildflower season. Same time and location as this one. These ones were like small lolly-pop flowers with a colorful bulbs at the top - hundreds and millions over the plateau.

Another 50mm Reversed

50mm Reversed
I had wanted to try this for quite a long time - to get a macro shot by reversing the 50mm prime lens. This is supposedly the cheapest macro lens ...
I got a chance to try this macro shot of the wildflower whose diameter measured by about 1cm. It was quite tough to get focus and stable composition - the lens, camera, subject and the photographer all seemed to be moving!

Wildflowers of Kas
One of my friends on casual discussion told me about the wildflower bloom which was in its final week at Kas Pathar. In my mind I cursed him for telling me so late. So on 02Oct2010, I started early morning by 5:00am to Satara. With rough directions we reached Kas Pleatau at around 10:00am. We found a group of young nature photographers at the start where there was a bloom of yellow flowers. Going further we reached the main area where there were a variety of flowers in yellow, white and blue in bloom. The place was getting crowded with visitors pouring in. I was pleasantly surprised to see forest guards on lookout to protect the bloom and guiding people. Though it was late for me for the bloom, I was fortunate enough to catch the spectacle this year.
There are more pics which I will post soon.

Bouquet for you !
Lively, fresh and natural bouquet for you ! This was waiting for us in Yellowstone national park as we took the Firehole lake drive. It was all wilderness and green grass around. This bunch seemed just being presented to us as got out at one spot.

Tulips
In April'08 had been to Tulip festival at Skagit valley - north of Seattle. It was a warm sunny day. At the time I had just one 17-50mm lens and was looking for a shot which was more like macro/close-up. All the previous shots were "big-picture" shots and were missing the flower details. After walking along the fields for long I felt like sitting for a while and fortunately I sat just by the flowers when this composition clicked. I got scoldings from my wife for spoiling my cargos. After looking at the shot back now, it felt worthwhile and so does my wife.
