Blue Arrow

Driving in Norway was an experience in itself.  After our stay at Gudvagen, we had planned to drive to Flam via the Aurlandsfjellet scenic route. However the high pass was closed due to snow and we had to return and make our journey through  Lærdalstunnelen. the longest tunnel in the world, which is 24.5 kms. The dark tunnel long was made alive by this blue light in one of the bigger sections of the tunnel. 

Age

I was taking a walk one morning in a camping trip (I think this was in the Pinnacles national monument). Don't know how old this tree could be but the patterns on it made me think that it must have been a very old tree.

Destination Moon

Kaup Lighthouse. This one is from archives captured from my first camera - Olympus C750UZ. Mangalore would be my favorite place to stay. This was captured on one of frequent trips to beaches. As I lay on the rocks near the Kaup lighthouse, enjoying the cool breeze and looking up into the sky ... it seemed that we were heading to distant moon.

The Claws

We wanted to be at Zebriskie Point for sunset. However our detour at 20 Mule Team Canyon took us quite some time. The sun just set as we arrived at Zebriskie point. So we missed the evening colors of the landscape here - well that's no reason to get b/w picture :), but it gives looks better than the color version.

More abstracts from Death Valley. Well, there is actually an Artist's drive where you can see colorful hills like these. We had started very early (3 am) from LA to visit Death Valley and unfortunately I fell asleep on Artist's drive. I caught the above on the 20 Mule Team Canyon drive.

The Crossing

I perched on top of the sand dune and was looking around for some shots. I think I took a long time there and my other friends had already started to walk back to the trail-head. Each seemed to be engrossed in their own interpretation of the nature around.

Sand Dunes - Abstract

Last time I visited Death Valley - did not spend time at the sand dunes and regretted for quite some time. So during this trip, I made sure I spend good amount of time getting onto the Sand Dunes. Early morning - well not so early - but by 9:00am we started our hike onto the dunes. From the highest dune in the valley, caught some formations. Reading an article sometime back, I had decided to use my 100-400mm lens for abstract photography of the landscapes. Experimented on this thought and this shot was the result of one of the experiments. I will post some more shots of this trip.

Zooming Past

This is Zoom Burst experiment. It was a cold evening at Ocean Shores, WA. The tide seemed to have receded and the wetness of the beach was reflecting the skies ... however the sun was hidden in the clouds and we missed the sunset and more importantly the beautiful colors which come about after sunset. This abstract makes me feel about the journey we are going through ... life just zooming past ... do you remember the colors ??

Abstract

Some abstract for desktop ;-) This is hot spring water flowing down. The green color is I guess due to moss/fungus and the orange is due to sulphur presence. This was taken in at Mammoth Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park.
