Cauldron in the Sky

Lohagad - My last trip to Lohagad was about 7-8 years back and impression in my mind was that the trek from Malavli railway station was quite long, boring and on a tar road which was not scenic or interesting, hence visit here was never again in my list of things to do. However unexpected calling came from my friendly neighbor who wanted to a half day outing for their guests. Due to Lohagad's proximity, connectivity by vehicle and also not so strenuous climb, I suggested this place and they ok'ed it. We drove right up to the base of the fort and climbed up the fort.
It turned out to be a very beautiful October day.
The view is of a pond at top of the fort "Ashtakon Talav" with clouds rising from below the fort hill.

Majestic Rajgad

Same trip as this one. After the arduous trek we looked back in awe at the once stronghold of Marathas. Its a wonder to us on how our kings could control and secure regions around forts, when even a regular trek for us is a big effort.

In the Clouds

Another of Monsoon Magic - The hike to the top of Jamalabad fort was quite challenging. It was drizzling and in the monsoon rains, the stone stairway was a flowing waterfall. Going upstream on slick surface and high incline steps with little help from our shoes took a long time. However the view at the top took us into the clouds.

Suvela Machee - Rajgad

A monsoon starter trek back at hometown ... Its nearly 14 years I am now back to my hometown and settled here. Lots of pending treks in the region and we started with Rajgad. We expected some drizzles during the trek, however it was quite hot and humid. This picture is of Suvela Machee from top of Bale Killa. Will post more pics of this trip soon
