The Mona Lisa
Finally I got the chance to view the most famous painting in the world. I picked the first Sunday of the month when Louvre and most museums in Paris have no entry charge, the only drawback being the crowd during this day. I had planned to reach reach at 9am to Louvre, but my friend turned in very late and I watched the line at the entrance growing such that it circled the Louvre Pyramid. After the long wait, as soon as I entered I just rushed to the section where Mona Lisa is placed. The place was all crowded and the painting seemed very small as compared to other paintings and what I expected it to be. Its difficult to appreciate the painting and even give a thought as to why it is so famous. Perhaps it requires a different ambiance and timing and not a crowded day.

Motorcycle Lady
It was my second trip to Las Vegas. This time made sure to visit the hotels for the various themes. This one I guess was in Mandalay Bay (not sure ... someone pls correct this/confirm this). I did not carry my SLR, but friends P&S was quite handy to capture this.

Greetings!
It had been quite some time and was fed up with work - long working hrs and no time for self !
Finally got time to do a small hike today at Stough Canyon Nature center in Burbank. The three mile hike was quite refreshing. I had started at around 6:00pm and had to run down to make sure I am out of park before dusk. Managed to scrape through. The trail was not as picturesque as I was used to around Bellevue, WA. I guess I will have to spend time in processing to make the pics interesting!

Baby steps
Quite a symbolic picture ... parent preparing the child to face the challenge of life.
This was taken in Olympic National Forest (WA, US) on a trail near Quinault lake.

River Trail
We had planned to go to Mt. Baker and had started early. En route, the main Hwy was blocked due to a cycling event. We had to park our vehicle and had to wait for about 1.5hrs. Fortunately this was close to the North Fork of Nooksack river and just ideal for a river trail to a horse-shoe bend. This picture is taken along the river trail.

Pillars of the Past
Golconda Fort: Though the place was crowded on a weekend, I managed to get this secluded shot of one of the stone passages in the vast fort. The stone walls have a way of telling their own story. The light and sound show in the evening is definitely recommended for anyone visiting the fort.

The Guardian
May2008-Glacier National Park: This picture strikes multiple notes and thus am confused as what to name it. Just look and it gives a feeling of fresh rain on thirsty tree. Keep looking and it seems the lone tree has overcome a struggle and now rising among the lowely twigs or other way round seems to be the guardian of the small twigs. The flower in the background speaks of new life amongst the dried twigs.
Technically - I liked the bokeh and the DOF. Seems a bit underexposed- tried to increase brightness, but was losing the background effect, hence left as-is.

Title please ...
Last week I had gone camping to Lake Wenatchee. This is early morning shot as I walked along the lake looking for photo opportunities.
A few people pinged me to ask if this was a processed photo in any way ... the answer is no. This is straight out of camera. You can check the shot settings in detail at:
