Against All Odds

Same trip as this one. The next day I caught the early morning shuttle and reached the last stop (Temple of Sinawava). After the previous hectic day I wanted to just take a walk along the floor of the Zion Canyon. Also it would give me a chance to capture some wild-life. The views along banks of the Virgin River the with towering canyon walls make one feel claustrophobic and realize how small we are in the overall scheme of things. It also makes you wonder how the seemingly innocent river has carved out the path against all odds with persistence and patience.

Who Paints a Tree on a Rock ?

... but this is not a crazy artist. This is mother earth. The Zion canyon and the high sandstone walls provide some of the amazing formations that even a green tree on a rock is possible!

Zion Peaks

Zion national park: Peak summer when we visited Zion - part of my 9 day trip around north rim of GC including the trans-canyon hike. This peaks seem very much similar to Glacier national park - just links of mountains forming a wall to the valley.
