A monsoon starter trek back at hometown ... Its nearly 14 years I am now back to my hometown and settled here. Lots of pending treks in the region and we started with Rajgad. We expected some drizzles during the trek, however it was quite hot and humid. This picture is of Suvela Machee from top of Bale Killa. Will post more pics of this trip soon

Winding Path

Same time as we did the Hurricane Hill trail. This is the trail which leads to the top of hill where we get the white carpet view. I have always been awed with the views from Hurricane Ridge in Olympics - the backdrop of towering mountains gives very nice perspectives and enormity of nature.
Blue Eyes ... bird's got blue eyes
Donno the bird, someone help me out here. I was lazying on the rocks by the California cost near Ventura. With 100-400mm on the camera was trying to get some shots of the pelicans and other birds around. This chap was behind rock and was stretching himself. When I saw the pic in the quick view screen of the camera, I immediately noticed the striking blue eyes ... and this made me go a few more clicks of the bird to get something interesting.

Makes Me Feel Humble
Day previous to Half Dome hike - I was patiently waiting for my friend to join me near Curry Village. The sun was casting its last rays on the Half Dome and the mist was settling on the valley. People were taking evening strolls in the meadows. It was getting cold and kind of mystery feeling was creeping over. Me too decided to take a stroll in the meadows. This scene with the valley walls at the backdrop made feel humble ... so small and being protected by huge hands of nature.

Devil's Golfcourse
Death Valley trip ... This area is actually below sea level and the land is in constant motion. This low lying area has mountains on both sides. The mountains sink into the basin, and lower mass then comes up again - causing cyclic churning of land mass. The white spots you see is salt deposits and are in form of sharp crystal shapes, so sharp as to cut if someone falls on it.

Yosemite's Inspiration Point
Same trip as Half Dome hike. The view was marred by the forest fires, still the view was as amazing, and still leaving more for imagination on how good the view would be on a clear day.
