Fiery Earth Cool Sky

So beautiful contrasts! It was evening and the clear day was transformed into very warm evening. I had gone on a trail down the chain lakes trail near Heather Meadows (Mt. Baker, WA, USA) and was returning back. The golden sunlight cast a fiery look on the rocks which was so very contrasted by the cool blue sky and white cloud streak.

Lost ... willingly, as we wandered through the beautiful trail. Not only us, all others also seemed to be lost between heaven & earth or was that we were in heaven !

Where do you go?

... and so much more to travel.

The Wall

Glaciers from St. Mary's Lake in Glacier National Park ... one of fragile places of our planet. Glaciers are fast disappearing due to Global Warming. Its sad to think that this magnificent sight is only for a few years to come. When we visited the national park, we were rightly told by the forest rangers to visit this area for "dramatic effect" of the glaciers.

Speed

Tried my luck at panning and this too was unexpected. It was fall time and we had gone for day trip along the Columbia River Gorge. At one point I has setup the tripod and taking snaps of fall colors besides the road. The first shot itself got spoiled due to rushing traffic. This got me trying the panning experiment. This is one of the "better" shots of so many that I tried.

Never Know

This picture has a little secret :) (and no I am not talking of any picture morphing). So do so many things in life, they are not what they appear to be ... The picture is was taken at Heather Meadows near Mt. Baker in WA, USA

Fantasy Land

Mountains, lake and forest - all so still and clear - waiting for an unicorn to appear.

Baby steps

Quite a symbolic picture ... parent preparing the child to face the challenge of life.
This was taken in Olympic National Forest (WA, US) on a trail near Quinault lake.

The Glow

It was late fall we visited Columbia River Gorge. On the route the glamour was over. It was only in the interior on a trail near Wahkeena falls we got fall colors. With the 17-50mm lens, I was generally taking landscapes. At this point i tried a close up of the leaves. This pic is post processed for Orton effect.
